Sport and Well-Being Advocates

Radcliffe Hall CE/ Methodist Primary School Sports Council has been set up to discuss the future of sport, health and wellbeing in school. Each of the children represents the school voice in all sporting decisions across the key stages.

Representatives from each KS2 class will be appointed after an application process to help make decisions alongside the teachers to maintain a positive attitude towards school sport.

The role of the sports council is to raise the profile of sport, health and wellbeing within school by helping with the following tasks:

• Being a student voice in regular meetings.
• Helping to plan the sporting calendar and sporting events (inside and outside of school).
• Leading competitions for younger year groups.
• Helping to ensure our achievements are shared with the rest of the school.
• Organising sports week and sports day.
• Researching local sports clubs (including going for taster days).
• Helping to keep PE equipment tidy.
• Promote health and wellbeing throughout the school both inside and outside of the classroom.

All our representatives proudly wear their blue Sports Council badges to make them clearly identifiable around school. Pupils will be helped every step of the way with their role and new sports councillors will be appointed each academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to further their leadership skills and have an input in their sport, health and wellbeing development throughout the school.
