Welcome back! We hope you have all had a lovely Easter and end of term break. It has been wonderful to welcome the children back to school, they are all ready and excited for another action packed and exciting half term.

This half term we are going to be reading 'Friend or Foe ' by Michael Morpurgo and writing non-chronological reports about mythical beasts. The children will also be producing a balanced argument and a narrative based on a Literacy Shed video. We will be including the grammatical objectives for Year 5 and 6.
This half term we will be covering angles, coordinates, reflection and translation. Please encourage your child to practice their multiplication skills as this helps with all aspects of mathematics.
In Science this half term we will be learning about living things and their habitats.
Our history topic his half term is The Battle of Britain. We will be learning about the reasons the war started, the impact on society and what life was like during the war.
In R.E we will be looking at why some people believe in God and why some people don't.
In art the children will be learning about the sculpture artist Niki De Saint Phalle and creating their own sculptures.
In PSHE, we are using My Happy Mind to learn about ourselves.
Our Christian value this half term is Trust. We will be discussing big questions such as, 'What is trust?' and 'How can I show I am trustworthy?'
Our P.E days are Monday and Thursday; children are asked to come in full P.E kit on these days. This half term we are learning netball and football.
