This half term we are going to be reading 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan. The children will also be producing an information text about endangered animals which links to our 'Living Things and Their Habitats' science topic. We will be including the grammatical objectives for Year 5 and 6. We will also be learning a selection of poems from the book 'Please Mrs Butler' by Allan Ahlberg
This half term we will be covering fractions. Please encourage your child to practice their multiplication skills as this helps with all aspects of fractions.
IIn Science this half term we will be learning about Living Things and thier Habitats. This includes learning about the life cycles of animals and plants and how they differ.
Our topic his half term is Poland. We will be using field skills involving using 4 and 6 point grid references. We will also look in more detail and moutains and volcanoes.
In R.E we will be looking at the connections between biblical texts and the concept of the kingdom of God.
In French we are learning about weekend with friends.
In DT, the children will be designing and creating their own playground structure.
In Music we will be learning songs leading up to our Christmas service.
In PSHE, we are using My Happy Mind to learn about ourselves.
Our Christian value this half term is friendship. We will be discussing big questions such as, 'What makes a good friend?' and 'Why is friendship important?'.
Our P.E days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a full kit on these days. This half term we are learning dance and rugby.
